08 Sep -- So one of the advantages to coming down in August is to see the changing colors of the sky. August is allegedly one of the coldest months because as the sun starts to come back up it creates some volatile weather. The first sunrise was like August 15th and from that point we get about 20-minutes more sunlight with each passing day until we're at full 24-hours. This continues until 21 December and then the sun begins it's sunset until it finally sets in March or April. This is not my photo either, I haven't been out to the Sea Ice Runway since they started building it. It's a few miles out of town.
