The Barnes Glacier

20 October -- Our Sea Ice Training Class took us out towards the Barnes Glacier. This glacier runs from the bottom of Mt. Erebus into the Ross Island Sea. It is located several miles north of McMurdo on the Ross Island. This is the first glacier I've seen with the big cliffs. The color of blues and whites was just amazing. We didn't see any portions of it "calf" or break off into the water.
