Sea Ice Training

20 October -- So, in addition to the Overnight Survival Training, those of us who have to work out on the Sea Ice attend a Sea Ice Training Class to learn more about the cracks, pressure ridges, etc. It was a fascinating class. We went out and drilled a bunch of holes out on the ice. They teach you depending on the thickness of the ice whether or not it would be safe to take the vehicle across. Maybe back in Vermont should I ever be interested in Ice Fishing, this could come in handy. Most of the places that we drilled were between 1-2 meters thick.
