Amber on Ice

26 October -- Yep, just another oddity down here at the bottom of the world. So these Weddell Seals will pop up out of the ice but because the sea ice moves and the weather changes frequently the holes that they come up out of may or may not be there when they're ready to go back down. So, sometimes they get stranded and/or "lost" on the sea ice. This bugger caused quite a ruckous earlier this week. He waddled right out onto our runway. This caused the Fire Department to get called in to "herd" him off the runway as we had a C-17 wanting to land. Yep, this little fella caused a C-17 to circle around a few times. Craziness!
