Amber on Ice

On Saturday morning our Recreation Department held a 5K Turkey Trot in celebration of the holiday. My friend Cindy and I rolled out of bed to run it. There were quite a lot of runners much to my surprise. The weather started out a bit blowy and overcast but by the time we finished the sun had poked itself out of the clouds. We ran from the Chapel up and around town, out to our Ice Runway and back. We go from running on dirt with large volcanic rocks, to running in soft snow which compares to running in sand, to running on hard ice. Not a runner's dream Antarctica, not at all. But, I had a personal best (well since high school anyway). I'm in the all blue outfit, very Smurf-like.
