Amber on Ice

One of the field camps this season was at Hutton Cliffs studying the Wedell Seals. This is located several miles north of McMurdo up the Sea Ice, sort of up towards Cape Evans or so I think. The field camps located on the Sea Ice have begun to breakdown for the season and return to base. Soon, or so we hope, the Sea Ice will turn to open water. They moved our Ice Runway last week due to the warm temps and melting ice. We now fly C17s into Pegasus Airfield and C130s into Williams Field both located out on the McMurdo Ice Shelf.
