Amber on Ice

My friend Mike, he was here Aug-Oct as a Winterover in MacTown. He's now back for another winter-season and will be spending a month at the Pole helping to bring their new Fire Suppression Systems on-line. This is a pic of us on a group tour of the South Pole Tunnels. These tunnels house their water/sewer/utility lines. The tunnels were engineered by Cold Regions Research & Engineering Labs (CRREL) out of Hanover, NH. CRREL has been involved with a number of projects down here. It averages about -60F in the tunnels. Brrrr....
