Amber on Ice

The original SP Station built in the 50s is now completely buried in snow and off-limits. The Dome which was finished in the 70s is now the "old" station.

It has recently been replaced by the new Station which is still undergoing construction. The pic of the Dome is taken from my room in the new station. The other pic is me at the entrance into the Dome. Out of this is what they call Heart Attack Hill. It's not that much of a hill but with the effects of altitude it felt like the steepest peak ever. The Dome is to be dismanlted and will be sent back to Port Hueneme, CA where they intend to turn it into a museum.
